Current: 2.7 ft @ 5s • 16 mph wind. wave height is okay but not doing the heavy lifting short period is making things weaker and choppier wind is starting to hurt shape a bit
Wind-blown and soft — 2.7 ft with cross winds chopping it up. Tide shift to low around 5:39 AM could change the picture.

Beginner basics
Where to go
Foz do Lizandro and Praia do Sul are the friendliest beach breaks in the World Surf Reserve and host most of Ericeira's surf schools. Take a lesson and stay on the inside.
What to avoid
Stay completely off the famous reefs — Coxos, Cave, Crazy Left, and Reef are heavy expert-only waves with shallow rocks. Don't even paddle out at Ribeira d'Ilhas as a true beginner.
Best beginner conditions
Knee-to-chest W or NW swell, 10s+ period, light E or NE wind, mid to high tide. Spring and autumn are the friendliest seasons.
